Categories : For Women

When people think of hair loss they normally think of it only affecting men as this seems to be the main area that seems to get talked about.

  • But did you know that 1 in 4 women suffer from what is called ‘female pattern baldness’ at some time in their life.
  • From research this would appear to be more prevalent during the menopause period.

But how can you prevent this and how will Provillus for women actually help?

To start with you should not use Provillus for men on the scalp of a woman. They are both two different products and I will explain the difference here.

Stress & Hormonal Changes Are The Biggest Causes Of Hair Loss In Women

Conditions That Can Be Treated

Should work for these conditions

The main reason for losing hair is as a result of a condition calledtelogen effluvium.

  • This results in the shedding of hairs on the scalp and also to other areas of the body.

This condition is actually a reaction to intense stress on the body’s physical or hormonal systems and can even be brought about by reactions to certain medications.

Although this condition can sometimes rectify itself within around 6 months, sometimes it will continue and will require some form of treatment.

Androgenetic Alopecia

The other condition which will affect hair loss in women is that of ‘androgenetic alopecia’.

  • This is a condition that can affect a large percentage of women especially after menopause.

It has been suggested that for women over the age of 65yrs, up to 75% of all women are affected by this.

Why The Need For 2 Products

As a result of changes being triggered by hormonal changes in women it is for this reason that there are two types of treatment available in the Provillus hair loss treatments, Provillus for men and Provillus for women.

Treatment Approved By The MHRA & FDA

The most effective treatment for hair loss and one that has been licensed by the MHRA in the UK and approved by FDA in the USA is that of Minoxidil.

As our bodies are different between men and women,  it is important to ensure that we right balance of minerals and vitamins for each sex.

  • In Provillus for men, the active ingredient is that of Minoxidil at 5% concentration
  • In Provillus for women the active ingredient is also Minoxidil but at a lower concentration of 2%

Not To Be Used During Pregnancy

Like most medications, it is important to ensure that products like this are not applied when a women is pregnant, for obvious reasons.

It has been stated that the women’s version doesn’t include the ingredient called, Saw Palmetto which could be a danger to pregnant women

How To Use Provillis For Women

Provillus for WomenThis product is used in the same manner as that for treating men, in that all you need to do is to massage one dropper full of the solution into the affected areas of the scalp morning and night. You must ensure however that after treatment, you must wash your hands properly.

Just because Provillus for women has a lower concentration of the active ingredient Minoxidil does not mean it is not as effective as that for the men’s solution. It is still a powerful formula, but one that is designed specifically for women’s needs.

This Is Not A ‘One For All’ Product

You may find some products available will provide the same product to be used on both men and women, which may sound more cost effective if both the woman and the man in the same household are experiencing hair loss. But don’t get taken in by false claims.

Men and women are both different and therefore need different levels of solution to work correctly without any side effects.

When Shouldn’t You Use This Product?

Condition When Not Effective

Patchy Hair Loss – may not be effective

There are occasions when you should not however use the product. The reasons when you would not use it is in the following situations:

  • When you are pregnant
  • If your scalp is irritated, damaged or sunburnt
  • When using other scalp treatments, suffer from a heart condition, on prescription drugs, when it is best to speak with your doctor first.

Are there Any Side Effects You Need To Be Aware Of?

Like all treatments, some people will suffer from side effects, whilst others will not have any. From doing research on the product I have found that the following side effects may result when using Provillus. They are as follows:

  • Itching, redness, dryness or flaking of the scalp
  • Recurring headaches

If you suffer from any of these, then I would suggest that you stop using the product immediately and make contact with their help line or contact your doctor for further advice.

Clinical Study Results

Here are the results that were obtained during clinical studies:

In clinical studies of mostly white women aged 18-45 years with mild to moderate degrees of hair loss, the following response to minoxidil topical solution 2% was reported:

  • 19% of women reported moderate hair regrowth after using minoxidil topical solution 2% for 8 months (19% had moderate regrowth; 40% had minimal regrowth).
  • This compares with 7% of women reporting moderate hair regrowth after using the placebo, the liquid without minoxidil in it, for 8 months (7% had moderate regrowth; 33% had minimal regrowth).

It should be pointed out that  the FDA approved ingredient Minoxidil is not contained in the supplement, – only the liquid. For some reason only the supplement can be supplied within the UK.

If your hair loss is caused by pregnancy, certain medications, cancer or the after effects of a serious illness than it is doubtful that Provillus will work for you. Normally in situations like this, your hair should re-grow again naturally which I can confirm myself from a good friend of mine who had cancer treatment. Her hair re grew after several months, a slightly different colour and thicker!

I always like to provide testimonials from people that come from independent sources and not from the companies website of provillus reviews for women. There are a lot of testimonials that I have been able to find and here are just a few:

“I am a female and I have been trying Provillus. 2months had gone by and I wasn’t sure if it was working.. 3 months then all of a sudden I go to wear my hair out and I have a new clump of hair growing on the top of my head.. happiest moment of my life lol.. I have Androgenetic alopecia which is thinning hair around the top half of your head.” NZGirl – Balding Blog

“Totally blown away! I am 50 years old and have been losing my hair (in the top, front area the salons call the “apple” in women) for many years now. Most of it is back. It took about 5 months to see results, but it works great. My friends even noticed. My hair is even a bit wavy now. I love it. I have been using Provillus for 8 months now and have cut back to one topical application and 1 pill a day and it is still working”. Lori W – Amazon (verified purchase)

“Have been using Provillus Hair Support for Women for some time.
Noticed decrease in hair loss very soon. My once fine and thin hair looks and feels great and want to keep it that way, by continuing to use this product.” C.M. Amazon (verified purchase)

In summary you will have learned the difference between Provillus for men and Provillus for women and the need for two different products. This product has been clinically shown to work as it contains the approved ingredient Minoxidil. Whilst it is not a miracle cure for all hair loss it has been shown to be effective for natural hair loss in women.

Provillus can only be purchased direct from the manufacture and is available throughout the world. If you would like to find out more about this product and its active ingredients then you need to find out more information.
